An Amicus Brief on the Ashby highrise lawsuit has submitted to Judge Wilson by Hugh Rice Kelly. Click here to view the brief.
Today, Judge Wilson heard closing arguments from both sides in the hearing for a permanent injunction against the construction of the Ashby Highrise. The judge took the issue under advisement. Judge Wilson said that he will make his ruling very soon.
The City and the Houston Real Estate Council are weighing in on the Ashby High-rise trial.
Last Friday the City Attorney David Feldman sent a letter to Judge Wilson urging him to rule in favor of the Buckhead developers. The letter made front page headline news in Saturday’s Houston Chronicle. Interestingly, Judge Wilson didn’t receive a copy of the letter from City Attorney David Feldman until this morning during the hearing, when it was produced by opposing counsel. The printed version of Saturday’s Houston Chronicle article was titled “City wants Ashby project to go forward”, but the online version is a bit tamer: “City weighs in as court grapples with decision over Ashby high-rise”
The Houston Real Estate Council sent substantially the same letter on 4/21 after the hearing was adjourned.
